Waiting for Speech Therapy in Eungai?

Finding a children’s speech pathologist with availability can be difficult. While our practitioners do not replace speech pathology assessment or therapy, your child may still be able to begin developing functional communication, social interaction and everyday participation skills while you wait.

Your child’s development does not have to stand still

Remaining on a speech pathology waitlist does not necessarily mean families must do nothing in the meantime. We know that early support is important for families in Eungai and surrounding areas. Through our mobile NDIS support, our Key Workers and Capacity Building Practitioners can help your child work toward communication, social, emotional-regulation, and participation goals using everyday routines and natural environments.

What communication support may begin while you wait?

For children aged 3–12, our team focuses on building skills in real-life situations. Examples may include emotional regulation linked to communication difficulties, parent and educator coaching, practising strategies at home, school or preschool, and working toward broader NDIS communication and participation goals.

• When is a speech pathologist required? Formal speech and language assessment, speech-sound concerns, stuttering, feeding, swallowing, complex communication needs and specialist AAC assessment require a qualified speech pathologist.
