    Understanding Your Child's Unique Profile

Navigating a potential autism or ADHD assessment can feel overwhelming for families. Our experienced child psychologists provide thorough, neuro-affirming autism and ADHD assessments for children via telehealth, making specialist neurodevelopmental assessment more accessible for families across regional NSW. Participating from home allows your child to be assessed in a familiar environment, which can help them feel more at ease — though telehealth may not suit every child, and we can discuss what is right for your family during your initial parent call.

    Fast Access & NDIS Funding

Appointments are typically available within 1-2 weeks. Depending on the assessment, your child's individual needs, and their specific NDIS plan, the full cost of the assessment may be funded under their NDIS plan.

    The Assessment Process

    1

    Booking & Intake

After booking, parents complete an intake process and connect with the psychologist so your child's developmental history, current concerns, strengths and assessment goals can be understood before the autism or ADHD assessment begins.

    2

    Telehealth Assessment

Assessment sessions are completed via secure telehealth from your home. Depending on whether your child is being assessed for autism, ADHD or both, sessions may involve a parent interview, interaction with your child and age-appropriate assessment activities.

    3

    Questionnaires & Supporting Information

Parents and, where relevant, teachers or educators complete questionnaires or provide information so the psychologist can understand your child across different environments — home, school and community.

    4

    Comprehensive Report

Families receive a detailed report outlining the assessment findings, your child's individual neurodevelopmental profile, practical recommendations and appropriate next steps. Reports are generally provided within 4–6 weeks.

    5

    Next Steps & Paediatrician Review

Families can take the completed report to their paediatrician for review, ongoing planning and formal diagnosis where required. We are happy to discuss the findings and recommendations with you so you feel confident about the path ahead.

    A Neuro-affirming Perspective

    Understanding Autism

Autism is a natural variation in human neurology. It shapes how a child experiences, understands, and interacts with the world around them. We focus on identifying your child's unique cognitive strengths, sensory preferences, and communication styles, rather than viewing differences as deficits.

    Understanding ADHD

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) involves differences in executive functioning, attention regulation, and energy levels. We view ADHD through a lens that recognizes the creativity, hyper-focus, and dynamic thinking often associated with an ADHD neurotype, while identifying the right supports to help your child thrive in everyday environments.
