Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Key Questions
Who do you work with?
We provide services to children aged 0-12 years who have NDIS funding and are current NDIS participants. In certain cases, we may extend this age range on a case-by-case basis if appropriate and within our operational scope of practice.
If you have concerns about your child’s development but do not yet have NDIS funding, we recommend contacting your local Child and Family Health Service, your GP, or your Early Childhood NDIS Partner.
How do I start services with The Child Health & Development Hub?
To begin, contact us to schedule an initial consultation. After onboarding, all parents engaging our services will receive an online service agreement via email, which must be completed before services can commence.
What qualifications do your professionals have?
All our professionals have completed child safety training, hold valid Working with Children Checks, and have extensive experience in supporting children and families. Our team includes:
A Clinical Nurse Consultant specialising in child health and development, with over 16 years of experience working across health disciplines.
A Qualified Primary Educator with over 16 years of experience in schools, supporting children with specific learning needs and helping families prepare for positive school transitions.
We ensure that every professional is highly trained and experienced in the services they provide, ensuring the highest quality care for your child.
Do you offer home visits?
Do you offer Occupational Therapy Services
Yes, we do! Our hybrid model offers a flexible delivery in-line with NDIS recommendations to ensure you access high-quality therapy support.
Occupational therapy is in high demand, so early registration is essential to avoid any wait lists or disappointment.
The earlier children begin receiving support, the faster their outcomes can improve.
Do you have a waitlist?
Our waitlist can change from week to week. However, we work hard to ensure there is no waitlist. Currently, we can commence services within 2 weeks of the initial consultation.
Do you charge travel fees?
Yes, travel fees apply for our outreach services. All fees follow the current NDIS pricing guidelines, including travel charges based on the NDIS Pricing Schedule. These details will be fully discussed and clarified during your initial consultation for complete transparency.
No travel fees are incurred for telehealth sessions or in-home programs.
What services do you provide?
We offer three key services:
Occupational Therapy: Tailored interventions for children aged 0-12. Services include Functional Capacity Assessments, sensory profiles, individualised in-home therapy programs and Occupational Therapist led face-to-face support sessions.
Early Learning and School Readiness Support: Helping children aged 4-6 develop the necessary skills for a smooth school transition through our innovative multidisciplinary model, led by our experienced Key Workers.
NDIS Care Coordination and Navigation Support: Assisting families in managing NDIS plans and accessing necessary services in consultation with families and our multidisciplinary team of professionals.
How long does it take to see results?
Each child is unique, and progress varies. However, many children begin to show improvement within a few weeks of consistent support, especially in areas like communication, motor skills, and school readiness.
Are your services covered by NDIS funding?
Yes, all our services align with NDIS plans and can be funded through the NDIS. We can assist you in understanding how to utilise your plan for the services your child requires.
Do you offer remote or telehealth services?
Yes, we offer telehealth options for families who may not be able to access in-person services due to geographical constraints or long waitlists.
