A: No. Unlike many services, we keep availability open. Face-to-face sessions can usually start within 2–4 weeks, OT Telehealth within 2 weeks, and psychology assessments within 1–2 weeks.
A: The key worker model means your family has one main practitioner who gets to know your child and works closely with you every week. They’re your single point of contact, helping to coordinate support across home, school, and any other services. This makes things less overwhelming — you don’t have to repeat your story to different providers each time. Key workers are childhood professionals who are trained in supporting children with development milestones, emotional regulation, school readiness and early academics (literacy and numeracy).
Q: How does a capacity building practitioner support children aged 7–12?
A: A capacity building practitioner focuses on building your child’s skills for independence, confidence, and everyday success. This might include emotional regulation, social skills, organisation for school, self-care routines, school success. overcoming learning challenges or community participation. The goal is always to help your child feel more capable and thrive in their world.
Q: How are Key Workers & Capacity Building Practitioners different from therapy?
A: Therapy is usually focused on a specific discipline (for example, occupational therapy or psychology). A Key Worker and Capacity Building Practitioner works across multiple areas — they use evidence-based strategies across areas of daily life and work closely with therapists if your child also has specialist input. This gives your family weekly, practical support while keeping therapy for when specialist assessments or interventions are needed.
A: The key worker and capacity building supports are funded under your child’s existing NDIS plan, usually from Capacity Building, Improved Daily Living or Core Supports, depending on goals. We’ll go through your plan with you to make sure the supports are matched correctly so funding is used effectively.
A: We support children aged 2–18 years across different services. Face-to-face sessions are most common for ages 3–12, while OT and psychology services support a wider age range.
A: Yes. One of the most important parts of the key worker model is consistency. Your child will have the same practitioner visiting each week, so they build trust and routines together. Parents often tell us this makes their child feel safe and supported. There are times when we will need to change practitioners, however, this will be discussed with notice.
A: That’s no problem. Your key worker can continue weekly sessions, while our team’s occupational therapist or psychologist can provide assessments or targeted therapy when needed. The key worker helps coordinate everything so it feels like a joined-up team, not separate providers.
A: You’ll meet with an Occupational Therapist online. They’ll design a personalised 12-week home program for your child and check in every 2 weeks to adjust and support you. Parents commit around 10–15 minutes, 3 times per week with their child at home.
A: An FCA is a detailed report completed by a Paediatric OT to show your child’s needs, strengths, and supports required. It’s often used for NDIS plan reviews, funding requests, or changes to services. Our reports are NDIS-compliant and delivered within 7 days. A: At this stage, we only provide assessments (Autism, ADHD, cognitive, and learning). After assessment, we provide a clear report you can use to access further supports.
A: Yes. Our face-to-face service with our Key Workers and Capacity Building Practitioners is primarily held in preschools and schools. With your consent, our team can connect with your child’s school to provide strategies and support that carry over into the classroom.
